Let us introduce you
If you don't know Elise Cook & Domenic Palumbo, they are the stylish and bohemian couple who have spent a lot of time on the dusty red Australian roads travelling in their peach coloured kombi van. Launching their very own wine label called Down The Rabbit Hole Wines in 2013, the pair, after months of preparations, will be opening their doors this August to their very own cellar door situated in McLaren Vale, South Australia.
In lead up to their official launch day, Elise Cook and Domenic Palumbo hosted the perfectly styled dinner party with Lisa Danielle (@lisadanielle__), Tara (@taramilktea), Shona Joy (@shonajoy_), Stef (@steffieneal_), Jamie Green (@oh.so.mellow) and Hippie Lane (@talinegabriel)
Our key takeaways
Start your guests outside while you set up for dinner
"While everyone was watching the sunset, we reshuffled the furniture and set up a little dinner party inside the cellar door shed. We were all laughing while we did it, hoping to be quick and quiet so no one saw - and it turned out so pretty I think we’ll have to do a few of these in here!" - Elise Cook.
We love that Elise and Dom started their guests outside in the afternoon as the sun was setting. If you've always wondered how to make the most of your backyard without too much investment, a couple of rugs out on the grass and a small fire pit is all that you need. Hand your guests a glass of wine and make a little grazing board for the perfect and easy afternoon.
Setting the table
"I chose the ochre table cloth and blush napkins because we had a winter-themed evening - and the colours went better than I could have dreamed. Love it when things come to life like this! I want to host dinners in here every night!" - Elise Cook.
So warm and inviting, Elise's table looks like a dream the way she's styled it back with a scattering of soft, whimsical dried flowers and low clusters of candles. She set the table with ceramic plates from a collaborative effort of @turquoiselane and @nikau.store. We also love that she's alternated the napkin colours at the table setting to create points of interest along the table.
