Ethos

Here at I Love Linen, we are committed to having a positive impact on our environment and community. We take pride in providing a sustainable experience, not only with our products but with a purpose for the greater good.

1. Design Philosophy

We design with you, the customer in mind. As we talk, listen and assist you with your purchases, we focus on creating designs that you will love for years to come. As designers, we take inspiration from our travels as well as our grass roots, always taking care to create designs that blend beautifully into your life.

2. Our Promise To You

Driven by passion and pride, our team has curated a wide range of complementary products designed to make homes more beautiful, everywhere. We are known for our premium natural fibers.

We have travelled far and wide, building relationships with amazing suppliers that have the right fabrics and designs so you’re able to happily enjoy our wide range, knowing the hard work’s done. Every time a customer shops with us, we know we must always do our best, and we value every investment that has been made with us. You are at the centre of our business and we want you to have confidence when shopping with us. You can learn more about our high-quality linen here while you explore our products. Just because we’re an online business doesn’t mean we’re impersonal, so you can expect to receive the kind of customer service you’d receive from your local boutique. Please talk to us, ask us about style, thread count or how to keep your whites white, your pillows plump and your towels fluffy – we’re here to help!

3. Social Responsibility

Inclusivity & Diversity
In recent times, it has been important to reflect as a brand to recognise that we must listen, learn and look forward to the social issues and inequalities in our world today. As a brand, we want to ensure the steps we take are both long-lasting and considered which takes time and planning. We strive to make inclusive choices from the people that we create content with, to the people behind the scenes of our business. As a creative business, we are in a position to be able to use our platforms to share positive stories and messages, to recognise and celebrate all people, regardless of shape, size, race, gender or sexual orientation. We strive for I Love Linen to be a brand for anyone and everyone. Below is how we plan to introduce more inclusivity & diversity to our brand:

  • Ensuring we are using creatives of all races, shapes and sizes in our clothing shoots, whether it be a model, photographer, or partner brand
  • Celebrate and showcase artists from different cultural, racial and social backgrounds and/or orientations
  • Building on vulnerability and diversity into our internal work culture, because multiple unique voices coming together are better than one

We want to show our continuous, unwavering support for communities such as LGBTQ+, BIPOC and beyond, and our hearts are with those who face unjust treatment every day. We will stand with you, we love you and we support you, no matter what.

Giving Back
Our aim is to inspire our community with our designs and styling, in addition to using our ever-growing platform to give back. When we feature a home tour of our lovely customers in our ‘Places We Live’ series, we are dedicated to shining a light on a charitable cause that is close to their heart. In turn, we will make a donation on their behalf from orders placed in the four days following the ‘Places We Live’ feature.

4. Ethics & Sustainability

I Love Linen is committed to establishing a strong ethical and sustainable component to our brand. As an independent retailer, we value authenticity about how your linens, materials and goods were made, and that is why we remain transparent with the sourcing and manufacturing process. Not only do we make the effort to limit our social and environmental impacts through our supply chain, we are dedicated to doing so also on a daily basis in our headquarters and warehouse.

Sourcing & Manufacturing
We source and manufacture our goods and materials from all over the world, with personal visits to the manufacturer in order to learn more about the production process. We work closely with a great maker, who is SA8000 rated, meaning that all workers are fairly and ethically treated. We seek to work with boutique-sized manufacturers who often focus on artisanal manufacturing processes, celebrating the age-old techniques that have been passed down for generations.

Dyeing
In order to be as sustainable as possible, we do not use Formaldehyde to set our dyes, meaning less toxins for your body. It does mean however that the colour will not be as firmly set but we have made an active choice to design with quality and health in mind.

Packaging
Did you know that we ship to you in 100% recycled packaging? Due to the abundance of packaging it takes to ship an item to you, we have set a goal for ourselves as a company to do our best at reducing the amount of landfill that e-commerce produces by choosing only to ship to you only in recyclable and degradable material. Notably, we have chosen Better Packaging comPOST bags for our smaller items. These bags are partly made from plants and renewable BPAT, meaning that they will degrade with no toxic residues. Read our interview with Better Packaging Co to learn more here. Re-use them or compost them at home, the choice is yours. For anything larger, we choose to use our 100% recycled boxes that are made to go straight into the recycle bin to be reused again and again and again.

Our Certifications
ECOCERT: This is an inspection and certification body for sustainable development. Having an ECOCERT means that the fibers have been 100% organically grown, which means that no toxic or harmful chemicals have been released into the earth, waterways or air.

OEKO-TEX: This means that the fabric is tested to make sure that there are no harmful substances before being sent to us.

SA8000 STANDARD: This is an independently audited certification in relation to the protection of workers’ rights. Earning this certification means that the factory has upheld SA8000 certification compliance for three years before being awarded this certificate.
